Myers-Briggs enfp

Few personality types are as creative and charismatic as ENFPs. Known for their idealism and enthusiasm, ENFP personalities excel at dealing with unexpected challenges and brightening the lives of those around them. People with the ENFP personality type are true free spirits – outgoing, openhearted, and open-minded.

Marked by inherent charisma and original imaginations, people with the ENFP personality type bring a unique energy into their professional environment. They are passionate about brainstorming with their teams and tend to excel in positions of leadership due to their ability to infuse the workplace with positivity and encouragement. With their warmth and open-mindedness, ENFPs often find ways to make their workplaces more creative, inspiring, and caring – no matter where they are on the career ladder.

As employees, ENFPs often impress their managers with their creativity and adaptability.

ENFP managers don’t talk down to the people who work for them. In fact, managers with this personality type behave much like they did before they were in charge: They establish real connections with their employees, and they inspire by example rather than shouting orders from behind their desks.

Areas of Growth

  • Change – Let’s face it, I’m a lot more comfortable and excited when I’m the one implementing changes in my life. Conversely, things get tough when there’s a significant shift in a rhythm, routine, or strategy I’ve grown accustomed to. There are moments when my strength of adaptability kicks in and I can adjust accordingly…and then there are times when the change is so abrupt and impactful that it requires a lengthly amount of time to shift.
  • Administration – Confession: I am not a task-driven, systems-loving, and process-minded leader. Instead, I’m a highly-relational, people-oriented, visioneer, and creative. Though absolutely appreciate those proficient and gifted at all things administration, I find myself more than often procrastinating when it comes to administrative or logistical tasks. Admission aside, that doesn’t mean I can’t grow in my ability to create and implement structure/processes that support the work I love to do. My ultimate goal is to get 5-10% better at all things administration.

Favorite Things

A snow-capped mountain range, deep meaningful conversations, a 5-second hug, a well-balanced smokey/bitter/sweet/boozy cocktail, a medium-rare prime ribeye or NY strip, my 13-years-and-going men’s small group, experiencing a live professional tennis match, witnessing my kids do something creative, being in constant awe of my stunningly beautiful and amazing wife, and last but not least…grabbing coffee with my sister from another mister, Camille. These are my favorite things.
